History

The Throwdownyourguns domain and web site were established on May 5, 2005. The site is hosted by the gracious people of Ilisys.

From establishment to the April 3 2006 the site had just the one page loaded. On April 4, 2006 the first substantial batch of content was added to the site.

Standards

I'm not doing any testing with any user agents other than Safari (and Opera on a P800 phone for laughs). Sorry but if you're not using Safari I just don't care - for the moment at least.

That said I'm doing my best at producing a standards-based site. The markup should be valid so should the CSS, although there are a few exceptions. I'm working in rounds of updating and checking and using the live site as Production Test so you may need to cut me some slack here and there.

I am deliberately avoiding the use of Flash. The misuse of flash in web sites is responsible for some of the most ridiculous, frustrating and avoidable usability issues. So, dumb-is-good could be the motto here.

Typography

I've settled on this string for the default font family attribute in the css,

font-family:"Lucida Grande", Verdana, Geneva, Helvetica, sans-serif;

Here they are if you have them:

Who knows, may change my mind some time.

Search Engines

Since establishment I have been keeping an eye on the Google index to see if and when the site gets picked up so I'd like to give a big welcome to Big Daddy who's been sniffing around since 7 Feb 2006 - do drop in any time - I'll try to keep things the way you like 'em - and should you ever feel like it, feel free to add some of my pages to your index. :-)
