Self Portrait 2 before being glazed and framed.
This self portrait began with a small sketch containing pieces of all the things that were dividing my attention at the time - books, painting, music, domesticity, landscape, electronics...
This little sketch or doodle, was the preliminary drawing for the painting.
I think there are some things in there that I'd like to work on again. The idea of the items stacked up around the frame didn't get translated into the painting.
An earlier image of the painting is shown to the left taken before all the layers of glaze were applied and before it was framed.
I sold this work at an exhibition in sydney some years ago. If you have it feel free to get in touch. I'd be interested in hearing about where it's been traveling all these years.
